Hoya and Dischidia Gallery

These climbing plants are not carnivorous but also very interested in ants. They provide housing for the ants, who will live under their leafs. The plants are rather clever and grow their roots under their own leafs to take advantage of the excrements of their guests. For successful cultivation regular rain water showers and slightly reduced light levels are recommended.

Once the flower has wilted the stalk should be kept intact, as it will flower again on the same stalk. According to my research there is Hoya obovata with very pretty flowers and Hoya kerrii with nice heart shaped leaves. There is a chance that we have both features combined in this form.
