This is one of the most remarkable Bromeliads. Tillandsias have so-called trichomes that enable them to live without relying on roots. They are located on their leafs and can collect water, dust, plant parts and even dead insects to cater their needs. Because of their unique ability to survive without soil, they are also called air-plants. You can therefore plant them anywhere you wish, be it a stone, a metal fence, a sculpture, a softdrink can - whatever comes to your mind. Of all Tillandsias this is our favorite being quite big, having for Tillandsia one of the largest, most spectacular flowers with a pleasant clove-like scent.
